"Architecture above the rim: Pontiac raises the game for public space."
Architectural Gesture: The building is deliberately designed to appear as if it’s hovering above the rim, with a glowing, translucent base and dramatic hovering volumes; playing on basketball iconography and youth potential. The ground plane (glass, light-reflective) contrasts dramatically with the solid volumes above, creating a building that seems to hover, much like the goals it symbolizes.
This dynamic, multi-functional facility will meet the much-wanted, diverse needs for the City of Pontiac, featuring spectacular architecture that seamlessly integrates with the natural landscape and incorporates local art, creating an inviting and inspiring environment.
Our Mission: Create a vibrant, inclusive community hub that inspires hope, empowers youth, and fosters health, wellness, creativity, and connection for all residents of Pontiac.

- Gymnasium and Running Track: Suitable for basketball, volleyball, and other indoor sports.
- Fitness: Equipped with the latest exercise machines, free weights, and dedicated spaces for group fitness classes.

Pontiac Community Recreation Center

Hope Has a New Address
The Pontiac Community Recreation Center (CRC) isn't just a building, it’s a reinvestment in the city’s belief in its own youth, families, and future.
The building is being designed with community words like resilience, hope, pride, and inclusion literally embedded in its conceptual DNA. Extensive youth engagement, including six-word stories and drawings, shaped actual programmatic and design decisions. The community's desire for a safe, welcoming, and proud space is answered through light-filled, nature-embracing design.
Draw
Fundamental to communication, drawing allows the idea to move forward and disbelief to recede.
