LIVE PERFORMANCE | LAKESHORE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA | 2017 | CHICAGO IL

Rhythm and structure (layers), mass and void (density), and the material use of light (transformation) are integral aspects in our experiences of both music and architecture.  While one art form is pure energy, actively played in time, and the other matter, resting in time, they share many conceptual notes in their creation and perception.  The definition of physical space, Architecture, can be compared to the defined environment of musical space.

These two interpretations of space and time were explored in one unforgettable evening.  The celebration of Music and Architecture including composers Bruckner, Beethoven, and Part were performed masterfully by the Lakeshore Symphony Orchestra lead by conductor Russell Vinick.  An original Architectural experience designed by Robert Benson complimented the music program.

Time in Space | Space in Time

“all art constantly aspires to the condition of music.”

— Walter Pater
